Hadronic resonances from ALICE in pp collisions
نویسنده
چکیده
The study of resonances in √ s = 7 TeV pp collisions provides a test of QCD in a new energy domain as well as a baseline for heavy-ion collisions. The resonances K∗(892)0, φ(1020), Σ(1385)±, Λ(1520), and Ξ(1530)0 have been reconstructed at midrapidity from their hadronic decay using data collected by the ALICE detector. The comparison of φ(1020) and Σ(1385) pT-spectra to QCD-inspired models such as PHOJET and different PYTHIA tunes are shown.

Hadronic Resonances in Heavy-Ion Collisions at ALICE
Modifications to the masses and widths of hadronic resonances in heavy-ion collisions could be a sign of chiral symmetry restoration. Uncorrected spectra, masses, and widths of the φ(1020) and K∗(892)0 resonances have been measured in Pb–Pb collisions at √ sNN = 2.76 TeV using the ALICE detector. These measurements are presented and compared to resonances in other collision systems.

We report recent results from the ALICE experiment the Large Hadron Collider on open charmed hadron production in pp collisions at ? s “ 2.76 and 7 TeV, and Pb–Pb collisions at sNN “ 2.76 TeV. Open charmed hadrons are kinematically fully reconstructed in the hadronic decay channels D0 Ñ K ́π`, D` Ñ K ́π`π`, and D ̊`p2010q Ñ D0π`and identified through their invariant mass. Combinatorial background ...

Quarkonia are meson states whose constituents are a charm or bottom quark and its correspondingantiquark (QQ̄). The study of the production of such bound states in high-energy hadron collisions represents an important test for the Quantum Chromo-Dynamics. Despite the fact that the quarkonium saga has already a 40-year history, the quarkonium production mechanism is still an open issue. There...
متن کاملDetection of D mesons via hadronic decays in Pb–Pb collisions at LHC with ALICE
The ALICE experiment is devoted to the study of heavy-ion collisions at the CERN LHC collider. We present the results of a feasibility study for the detection of D → Kπ decays in Pb–Pb collisions with ALICE. 1 Physics motivation The aim of the ALICE [1] experiment is to study the behaviour of nuclear matter in the conditions of high densities and temperatures in which a transition to a deconfin...
متن کاملJ/ψ production measurements in pp and Pb-Pb collisions in the ALICE experiment at the LHC
ALICE is the experiment dedicated to heavy-ion studies at the LHC: it aims at a comprehensive study of the hot and dense colour-deconfined state of matter called Quark-Gluon Plasma. Quarkonia resonances are considered as powerful probes of the deconfined phase since the heavy quark pairs are produced in the early stages of the collision and their bound states are very sensitive to the coloured ...
